“ Owned by the same family for four generations, this beautiful Victorian Gothic-Revival country house and estate contains over 40,000 items - all of which have been painstakingly catalogued and restored by an army of volunteers. In a unique experiment, the National Trust threw Tyntesfield open to the public at the start of its conservation process, so visitors could observe (and participate in) the restoration of the house and gardens to their former glory. It's not yet finished, but still a great day out. The restaurant is a rip-off though - head to a local pub instead. ”
