RESIDENTS, traders and shoppers in Staple Hill are being asked for their views about the future of Fountain Square.

Consultations have now begun to see how the square on the High Street might be developed.

Detailed plans are on display at the library in Staple Hill showing how the square could look including a new layout which could provide space for events such as the annual Christmas on the Hill charity fundraiser, as well as civic occasions and an area for exhibitions and displays.

These include replacing the existing fountain feature or replacing with something new; providing a new tree planting scheme; repaving the central area; providing a performance area; improving drainage; making it easier to see the square's shops.
