Three arrested after valuable bike theft in Kingswood
THREE men have been arrested thanks to a member of the public who called to report suspicious behaviour.
Police were called just after 1am today by a witness who saw three men pull up in a car and walk down a lane behind a detached house in Kingswood.

Two men then came back to the car and drove off.
In less than a minute, patrolling officers had stopped a car and arrested two men.

They woke the householders and found that a distinctive high-value bike had been taken from an outbuilding.
A third man was arrested at about 1.30am in Kingswood High Street. The bike was recovered and returned to the owner by 1.45am.
Three men aged 18, 19 and 23 remain in police custody today pending further enquiries.
Neighbourhood PC Dom Pickett said: “We're really grateful to the person who called us to report their suspicions. Thanks to them we were able to return a stolen bicycle to its rightful owner. It's always worth giving us a ring if you see something that doesn't seem right.”
PC Pickett added that bikes are a popular target for thieves. He recommends marking them with your postcode and registering them at www.immobilise.com, so police can identify it as yours, helping us get it back to you. It also deters thieves because it helps us prove a theft.
