Four appear in Bristol court to face charges following riots in Stokes Croft
FOUR people appeared before Bristol magistrates at the weekend following the riots in Stokes Croft.
Joseph Foster, 20, who was said to be of Lower House Crescent, Filton, was charged with possession of a petrol bomb with intent to destroy property belonging to Tesco and threatening to destroy or damage property.
An application for bail was refused and he was remanded in custody.
He was told he must appear again on June 3 for committal proceedings to the Crown Court.
James Edward Hutton, 44, of Brigstocke Road, St Paul's, who is charged with a violent disorder offence, was also remanded in custody. No application for bail was made. He must also appear again on June 3.
Oliwia Torres, 24, a warehouse worker of Stapleton Road, Easton, was charged with public affray.
She was granted bail on condition that she resides at her home address and does not visit Stokes Croft or London. She must appear again on June 17.
Josef Janacek, 26, of no fixed abode, denied assaulting a police officer but admitted a lesser offence of obstruction.
The court was told he refused to move out of the way when asked to do so by a police officer on horseback.
He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months.
