Top of the Bill

Saturday, October 31, 2009, 07:00

The Bristol & West Federation's president, Bill Milton, scored a runaway victory in the Ridgeway & District AS match, fished on the River Avon at Swineford.

He fished a feeder and maggot over a crushed pellet feed off the outfall peg and finished almost 25lbs clear of his nearest challenger with a 33-9-0 catch of bream.

The next best weight came from tackle dealer Matt Challenger, who fished maggot beneath a crow quill float off peg 16 and weighed in 8-11-0 of small roach.

Result: 1, Bill Milton 33-9-0, peg 1; 2, Matt Challenger 8-11-0, peg 16; 3, John Rowlands 7-12-0, peg 18; 4, Brian Paull 5-14-0, peg 12; 5, Stuart Brown 5-9-0, peg 11; 6, Geoff Challenger 4-8-0, peg 19.

Have your say

It's a question which arrises every four years: should Great Britain register a GB football team at the Olympics?
