Avon Angling and Carps AC joined forces to fish the Yarlington Match Lake at Cider Farm Lakes after members committed to fishing winter leagues caused a personnel shortage in both camps.

The 16 anglers who turned out were beaten by match co-ordinator Tony Rixon. He poled sweetcorn both into his left margins and between the islands at 13 metres off peg 28 for a 30-carp catch totalling 63-9-0.

Results – Overall: 1, Tony Rixon (Avon Angling Mosella) 63-9-0, peg 28; 2, Steve Kedge (Somerset Angling) 60-3-0, peg 36; 3, Dave Roper 47-3-0, peg 5; 4, Eddy Wynne 45-5-0, peg 58; 5, Mike Owens (Sensas Thyers) 44-9-0, peg 41; 6, Phil Harding (Avon Angling) 42-8-0.
