Bitterwell joy for Jeffries

Steve Jeffries clinched the first match in the Bitterwell Lake Monday Rover series with 37-8-0 of mostly carp taken from the margins of corner peg 1 with soft pellet and paste.

Runner-up Steve Maybery fished a variety of baits off peg 4 and included the top silverfish catch of 15-7-0 in his 35-10-0 total catch.

Result – overall: 1, Steve Jeffries (Avon Angling) 37-8-0; 2, Steve Maybery (Bitterwell Lake) 35-10-0; 3, Bob "The Bread" Price (Alcove AC) 22-0-0; 4, Steve Dawson (Alcove AC) 20-15-0; 5, Martin Alexander (Avon Angling) 16-8-0; 6, Bill Ferris (Alcove AC) 14-8-0. Silverfish: 1, Steve Maybery 15-7-0; 2, Bill Ferris 12.4-0.
