He hopes his sponsored 'trolley dash' will help raise much-needed money to help fund his trip to attend a conference run by the World Association of Zoological Horticulture.
Matt explains: "The event is a world-class gathering of zoo horticulture specialists and is a really great opportunity to share skills, knowledge and experience as well as hearing world-class speakers. I can then bring their knowledge back with me and apply it to the work we do here."
He added: "Bristol Zoo has beautiful botanic gardens that we are very proud of, and this event will help raise the Zoo gardens' profile on an international level."
Bristol Zoo has agreed to part-fund Matthew's trip for the event, which takes place in Florida this October, but Matthew needs to raise a further £400 to secure his place at the conference.
