POLICE have arrested a teenager after the windows of Emerson's Green Library were smashed.

The 17-year-old was arrested in the early hours of yesterday after officers spotted him behaving suspiciously near a car in Stanley Road, Warmley. He was arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and was later connected with the smashing of the library windows and criminal damage to three other businesses nearby. He was in custody last night.

A police spokeswoman said motorists should remember to always lock their vehicles and make sure nothing is left on view.
