Youngsters reaching new heights
CHILDREN in Eastville have been given a confidence boost by joining an after-school climbing club.
A group of 24 pupils from Glenfrome Primary School have been visiting St Werburgh's Climbing Centre.
The weekly visits have been made possible thanks to a £1,000 grant from the Horfield and Lockleaze Neighbourhood Partnership.
Emma Thomas, a Year 2 teacher at the school, said climbing had resulted in children developing confidence and self-esteem while learning about health, fitness and teamwork.

The school's head teacher, Inger O'Callaghan, said: "It has been a fantastic success, and the children have enjoyed it enormously. The school is always looking for ways to enrich our children's education. We are very grateful to the Neighbourhood Partnership for enabling us to give the children the opportunity they would not have otherwise have had."
