Youngsters help at official opening of play area
YOUNGSTERS in Bradley Stoke are enjoying a fun new play area.
The children of Play-pitch pre-school were brimming with excitement when they helped the town mayor, Councillor Ben Walker, cut the ribbon at its official unveiling. They also marked the occasion by having their hand-prints painted on the play area's storage unit.
Based at Baileys Court Activity Centre, Play Pitch pre-school opened in January 2003, and is a charity run by a committee mainly made up of parents.
The play area was paid for through fundraising and grants, which the pre-school relies on to pay for new toys and apparatus.

Pre-school manager Carolyn Stutter said: "We are all very excited about the new space, as outdoor learning is a crucial element of the Early Years Foundation stage.
"The pre-school has been fundraising for the last eight years so the children would have a dedicated outside space to use.
"It has taken a lot of hard work and dedication from the committee, staff and parents and it would be impossible to thank them all in person as there are so many.
"The vision has now become a reality with the support of Bradley Stoke Town Council and the work has been completed by Classic Landscapes.
"The children will now be able to play outside in all weather and to explore the outside with confidence and freedom."
The play area is exclusively for the use of the pre-school during school hours.
