Young athletes encouraged to go for funding
LOCAL athletes aged between 13-23 and living in Avon should note that applications for 2013 Arthur Dagger Memorial grants are now open at: http://www.greatwesternrunners.org.uk/index.php/top-info/arthur-dagger-memorial-fund.
The closing date for applications to the fund, set up in memory of the late Arthur Dagger from Great Western Runners, is February 28.
Dagger was one of the longest standing members of GWR, a stalwart who had been on the club's committee for many years and who worked tirelessly for more than a quarter of a century on behalf of the running community in the Bristol area.
He especially had a track record in supporting young people in their running. The Fund's Mission is to support young people in Avon to develop their talents and improve their competitive running.
