The Young Ones' Bristol flat on the market
The Bristol house used to film Eighties comedy The Young Ones is on the market.
The flat has just come onto the letting market and although it may look like any other on the streets of Bishopston, it has its own interesting history.

The house in Broadway Road was used to film scenes from the popular comedy and landlord Mike Kendall said its interesting past is definitely a big selling point.
Mr Kendall, who runs Kendall Harper Estate Agents, has owned three of the four flats in the building for five years.
He said: “People are definitely intrigued when they find out its history. We were offered once by the council a chance to put up a plaque to mark the spot but they wanted £400 from me to do it so we didn’t bother.
“The Young Ones was obviously a really well-loved series, so it makes people more interested in the property. I knew when I bought the flats that the show had been filmed here and I was a big fan when it was on TV – I think everyone was at the time. It is one of those iconic comedy series.”
Series producers used the Bishopston property for scenes where Motorhead played outside the house, and also used the entrance hall and stained glass window in filming.
However, a lot of the internal scenes were filmed in a studio.
The Young Ones was first broadcast in 1982, on BBC2. The main characters were four undergraduate students sharing a house: violent punk metaller Vyvyan, pompous would-be anarchist Rick, long-suffering hippie Neil, and the mysterious and diminutive Mike.
Although the series was set in North London, many of the external scenes for the show were filmed in Bristol.
The flat is up for rent from today at £525 per month and is unfurnished, with a double bedroom, large living room and small kitchen.

“Blueblood is correct - Mototrhead did not play outside the property. they were inside the house so obviously on set somewhere else.”

“Get you facts straight BEP Motorhead never played outside the house, the seen they played in was staged indoors,so presumably a studio in London, think you might be confusing them with Madness who did actually lay in the road outside.”
