The Edgeley Park pitch predictably got the better of both sides but Yeovil moved a point closer to League One survival after a game of few chances.

Early on, County's Chris O'Grady almost got in on a long ball but his touch was heavy and Chris Weale was able to gather.

Then former Yeovil full back Michael Rose put in a cross from the left but Tommy Rowe could only fire into the side netting at the near post.

Yeovil's first effort of note was a shot from Gavin Tomlin that flew well over from the edge of the box.

Soon after, Andros Townsend crossed from the left, Paul Warne headed back and Tomlin's goal-bound shot was blocked by a defender.

Tomlin's third opportunity came when he latched onto Roberts' free kick but could only prod straight at the home keeper.

Rose had the final chance for the hosts when he intercepted a Keiran Murtagh pass but blazed high and wide.

After the break O'Grady finally got a clear sight of goal when he turned Terrell Forbes but Weale pulled off a superb one-handed save.

Then, from a right wing corner, Josh Thompson's header beat Weale but Danny Hutchins, on the line, managed to hack the ball onto the post and away to eventual safety.

O'Grady then let fly from an acute angle but Weale pushed the ball aside for a corner.

Weale continued to be busy with Greg Tansey's dipping effort requiring a back peddle and a tip over.

Yeovil's first effort of the second half came on 85 minutes when Murtagh, Jon Obika and sub Luke Rodgers combined for the latter to volley over.
