Yeovil Town denied by late equaliser
Full-time: Yeovil Town 1 Carlisle United 1. Terry Skiverton was robbed of his first win as Yeovil manager by a 90th-minute equaliser from Michael Bridges.
The former Bristol City striker shot home from 20 yards at Josh Wagenaar's near post to cancel out Gary Roberts' first-half opener.
Yeovil gave a debut to Tottenham loanee Danny Hutchins at right-back but a cross sailed over his head in the second minute and Paul Thirwell's goalward header was inadvertently blocked by the youngster.
Joe Anyinsah then forced a good save from Wagenaar as the visitors started the brighter.
Ex-Bristol City youngster Anyinsah, who had been sent off for Brighton on his previous visit to Huish Park, then turned Aaron Brown too easily but shot well over.
Yeovil threatened briefly when Gavin Tomlin robbed Peter Murphy but the defender was able to get back and block his shot for a corner.
Then Terrell Forbes crossed for Andy Welsh but the winger's header looped high and wide.
And Yeovil took the lead on 31 minutes when some neat build-up play saw the ball knocked in to Paul Warne with his back to goal. Roberts ran off his marker, was picked out by Warne and slotted past Ben Williams.
Carlisle almost replied straight away but Thirwell's 25-yarder flew just wide of Wagenaar's goal.
Then Welsh's corner was headed down by Forbes for Tomlin but Williams tipped over when the striker should have done better.
After the break Dave Raven was booked for a foul on Welsh, who needed treatment and therefore left the pitch before play restarted.
Ref Dave Phillips appeared to gesture towards Welsh to come back on only to take umbrage at his reappearance and produce a hideously unnecessary booking for entering the field of play without permission.
Welsh was undetered and set up Warne for a shooting chance soon after but the veteran's effort was blocked.
Scott Dobie then entered the fray for Anyinsah for the visitors and should have scored with his first touch but somehow volleyed wide from two yards after Thirwell's free-kick.
Wagenaar made a fine save low down from Graham Kavanagh's free-kick as Carlisle's pressure intensified.
Yeovil should have had a penalty when Tony Kane handled Nathan Jones' cross and ref Phillips continued to infuriate the home crowd when booking Schofield for kicking the ball away.
They were even angrier when Bridges had the final say.
