Yate sunk as Abbie hits double
Abbie Champion was the toast of a delighted AEK Boco B Under-11s team as they broke an overdue duck.
Her double strike in the 2-1 success over Yate Town saw them to their first-ever win.
It was a terrific effort by the girls who are now targeting more scalps before the campaign is out.
Downend Flyers A Under-12s also turned in a magnificent display to come away 3-1 winners against a good Southmead side.
Jasmine Trueman did the damage with a hat-trick, leading manager Andy Green to enthuse: "The girls gave an outstanding performance and I was very proud of them."
Downend Flyers B Under-12s also gave a good account of themselves, but despite a spirited showing they went down 8-1 to their Keynsham counterparts, Beth Kendall netting Downend's consolation with a cracking finish.
Lauren Iles was the Flyers' star performer.
Player-of-the-match Alys Withers led Portishead Under-10s to their fourth win in a row with a 2-1 victory over Ashton Girls.
Chelsea Hill scored Portishead's equaliser, latching on to a superb pass from Kyla Probert, before Aimee Morgan followed up the effort with the winning goal shortly after.
Tough tackling in midfield by Lydia Dias, Izzy Batchelor and Emily Dickens, and first-class defending from Eloise Hubbard, Sophie Dumine and Rosie Collings, ensured Ashton were kept at bay.
