Yate make it seven wins in a row at home
YATE convincingly beat play-off rivals Paulton to record a seventh successive home victory in Division One South & West of the Evo-Stik Southern League.
Victory was not enough for Town to overhaul their rivals in the league table, but they now lie just one point behind fifth-placed Rovers with two games in hand.
Both sides had chances to score early on, but Scott Wilson fired wide for Yate, while Marcus Mapstone drove the ball over the crossbar from Nick McCootie's cross at the other end.
The hosts took a 19th-minute lead with a rather soft goal as Geraint Bater's long ball appeared destined for Paulton goalkeeper Kyle Phillips.

However, Karim Rendall gave chase, outjumped the goalkeeper to the bouncing ball, and saw his header from the edge of the box just beat the covering defenders to the line.
Yate's second goal, seven minutes before half-time, was an even bigger gift as Stuart Tovey lost the ball trying to shepherd it out and Matt Groves crossed for Wilson to convert.
Rendall had a fine effort tipped over by Phillips shortly before the break and Harley Purnell's drive was blocked by Tovey early in the second period.
The home side wrapped up the points on 74 minutes when Bater fed Michael Meaker on the left and he curled a tremendous shot around Phillips to round things off in style.
