Gloucestershire County League: Yate Town Reserves were 3-0 winners over a Patchway Town side that rarely threatened their defence.

Patchway lost their goalkeeper Martin Alford early on with an ankle injury and he was replaced in goal by outfield player Dean Woods. Yate opened the scoring midway through the first half when Luke Coles headed against the crossbar and Justin Cattle scored from close range.

Yate went further ahead in the 35th minute when Danny Coombes' shot went through the keeper's legs.

Patchway were reduced to 10 men in the 40th minute when Bradley Harris was sent off for handling the ball, his second bookable offence.

Yate made it 3-0 after 70 minutes when Cattle's drive curled into the far corner of the Patchway net.

Thornbury Town came from behind to win 2-1 in a bottom-of-the-table clash at Chipping Sodbury. Sodbury defender Dave Coombs opened the scoring when he headed home from a corner, but Thornbury equalised through Sammy Lippiatt and grabbed the winner in the 85th minute when Pete Fowler struck.

DRG again failed to score, losing 4-0 at home to King's Stanley. Stanley were fortunate to take the lead when Rob McArthur's back pass fell short and keeper Chris Telfer struck his clearance against Nick Rieger, who slotted home.

A brace from Lee Barstow, the first a header from a corner and the second a low drive, secured the points. In between Barstow's two goals, Sam Prior broke clear of the defence and fired in a shot.

Berkeley Town bounced back from a dip in form to win a hard-fought match against Highridge United. Berkeley took the lead after four minutes and Craig Hopkins levelled on 20 minutes with a low drive.

Berkeley took control and secured victory with two second-half goals.

Lowly Hanham Athletic suffered another home defeat at the hands of Bishop's Cleeve Reserves. After some good open play, James Pickup opened the scoring for the visitors on 15 minutes. Goals on 55 and 56 minutes from Richard Barnes, again involving good build-up play, ensured the three points went back to Cheltenham.

In the third round of the GFA Challenge Trophy, Cadbury Heath from the Toolstation League secured their passage with a narrow 3-2 victory over Henbury, from the Gloucestershire County League.

After trailing 3-0 at the break, Henbury hit back with two second-half goals from Craig Hobbs and Ralph Timms.
