The Wurzels to play gig in aid of Bristol's St Michael's Hospital
The Wurzels are staging a Halloween concert in aid of the neonatal unit at Bristol's St Michael's Hospital.
The famous West Country band will be performing at the Civic Hall in Trowbridge on October 31.
Proceeds will go to St Michael's Hospital's neonatal intensive care unit, which provides world-class care to babies and children from all over the South West of England.
Wurzel Tom Banner said: "We are honoured and delighted to be doing our bit to help raise money for this most worthy cause.
"If any of you are ever feeling sorry for yourselves, pay a visit to St Michael's Hospital in Bristol to get a wake-up call. You'll realise that you have nothing to complain about."
It has been arranged by Claire Williams in memory of her friend's baby girl, Ella, who died in April 2008 at four days old, after suffering severe brain damage during birth.
Ella's parents, Makeala Chappell and Wayne Drury, have so far raised £22,000 for the appeal and are hoping the concert will help them to get a bit closer to their target of £50,000 to buy a portable incubator.
Tickets are on sale now at £12, available from the Trowbridge Information Centre on 01225 710535 (cash and card sales).
The event is open to over 14s only, and doors will open at 7pm.
