Wrinkly Rappers fail to make Britain's Got Talent semi-finals
The Wrinkly Rappers have reached the end of the road in the battle to become the next big thing on Britain's Got Talent.
Singing four-piece Brenda Brooks, 56, Marian Bowers, 66, Belinda Marks, 46, and Terry Reynolds, 65, auditioned for the ITV1 show.
The group impressed the judges during the first round last December and were called to a second audition in Cardiff in February.
Since then the rappers have been waiting to find out if they would get through the semi-final round of the top talent show.
But after watching the audition heats over the past few weeks the Wrinkly Rappers were left disappointed on Saturday after not being chosen.
Their act also failed to make it on to TV screens despite auditioning before Simon Cowell.
Brenda, of Burnham-on-Sea, said: "As far as Britain's Got Talent goes, the story ends here for us as we did not get through to the semi-finals.
"We are disappointed, especially because we were not even shown on TV, and we would have loved to have appeared.
"But for some reason they showed hardly any footage from the Cardiff auditions.
"There were a lot of good acts in Cardiff who were also not shown, so there must have been a lot of disappointed people.
"We had been watching every week to see our performance as they told us we would be on TV after going in front of Simon Cowell.
"Obviously we were disappointed and disappointed at not being called to London for the semi-final rounds."
She said she and the other rappers were considering trying again next year. She said: "I guess that's life and it's not the end of the world, maybe we will try again next year.
"At least we had the experience, as none of us had done anything like that before.
"Considering we only started up at Christmas its early days for us.
"We just want people to see us and ask us to go along and do something for them to help raise money.
"Our aim is just to make people laugh and raise money for different charities.
"We have a few more fundraisers booked - we are going to the RNLI at Brean on July 15 and we are going to the Celtic Blue Rock Festival in July."
Brenda and Terry formed the group after performing for a joke at a folk music event for the Caravan and Camping Club.
Their aim was to show older people can still have fun and make people laugh and the rap group was then formed.
Brenda added: "Terry and I were at the Caravan and Camping folk show and a couple of people brought their grandchildren along who performed a rap.
"It was about old people being an embarrassment and how we are not cool and don't understand anything.
"We wrote a rap response and performed with two other people for a laugh and it went down really well and snowballed from there."
