About 120 people attended the evening, which was the centre's first big event since it opened in November.
Co-owner Rich Emerson, 45, from Bishopston, said: "It was a fantastic night, and everyone was really inspired to hear about and see pictures and videos of his exploits."
The event marked the start of the Climbing Academy's lecture series, and the next lecture will be from climber Jerry Moffat on March 15.
