Chris Woolley poled slime paste into the lakeside margins of peg 18 and the capture of four late carp totalling 32-9-0 was enough to win him the Carpenters Arms 2,000 AC match fished on the Old Canal at Ivy House Lakes.

The runner-up was Phil Groves, who used the same bait at peg 15 to take three late carp weighing 24-4-0.

Third-placed Paul Foxhall poled an 8mm hair-rigged pellet at 16 metres centre off peg six to tempt two carp worth 9-11-0.

Craig Pinker weighed in the best silverfish catch at peg seven, where caster, short-poled into its lakeside margins came up with 9-4-0 of skimmers and roach.

Result – overall: 1, Chris Woolley 32-9-0, peg 18; 2, Phil Groves 24-14-0, peg 15; 3, Paul Foxhall 9-11-0, peg 6; 4, Chris Bland 9-5-0, peg 4; 5, Neil Carter 9-4-0, peg 13; 6, Craig Pinker 9-4-0 peg 7. Silverfish: 1, Craig Pinker 9-4-0.
