Quality of fish decided the winner in the Carpenters Arms 2000 AC Saturday match fished at Staunton Court.

Both Chris Woolley and Paul Foxhall weighed in a five-carp catch, with victory going to the former by 7-15-0.

Woolley fished a slime paste at five metres centre off peg nine for a 42-15-0 catch of mostly carp, while Foxhall poled an 8mm soft pellet shallow at 13 metres down the edge of 12 for exactly 35-0-0.

Third place was filled by Steve Wynne with a mixed bag of 31-0-0.

Result: 1, Chris Woolley 42-15-0, peg 9; 2, Paul Foxhall 35-0-0, peg 12; 3, Steve Wynne 31-0-0, peg 7; 4, Graham Bennett 22-14-0, peg 19; 5, Martin Woolley 22-10-0, peg 6; 6, Rich Jones 18-8-0, peg 2.

Steve Woods scraped home by 13oz from Phil Groves to win the Ridgeway & District AS match fished at Pawlett Ponds.

Woods poled sweetcorn at 11 metres off peg seven and the capture of three carp weighing 11-9-0 was enough to give him victory.
