Wood recovers in time for Dubai World Championship

​​Chris Wood will tee off in the money-spinning Dubai World Championship this week after recovering from a feak ankle injury.

Wood, currently ranked 71st in the world, will line up on Thursday alongside Dubliner Peter Lawrie, 84 places below him in the world rankings, for the lucrative end of

season tournament.

The Nailsea star was forced to pull out of the Spanish Masters last month after slipping while

going into the clubhouse at the Club de Campo del Mediterráneo,

Castellon.

Doctors diagnosed torn ankle ligaments but Wood has recovered to take his place in the first round in Dubai with a prize fund of almost £750,000 in his sights.
