    "Dear dog owners,

I know that a story like this tends to elicit "It's not the dog, it's the owners" and "my pitbull is great with kids" and so on but let me ask you this... when was the last time you read about anyone being killed by a house cat or a hamster?

Stop making excuses for your pets, it's undignified."

“"this story remains that dogs cause problems through their multifarious unpleasant and disagreeable behaviours and qualities. (I forgot that they're smelly and dribble in my last post, so please add those to the not inconsiderable list, none of which you have attempted to dispute)"

I don't think you can just limit this behaviour to dogs, have you been into town recently?

Still, I don't think I've met a condescending dog yet though....”

“If dogs were swabbed to record their DNA at the time of chipping, then every incident, whether it be fouling or biting would be readily traced back to the offender.
Knowing your pet could quite easily get you into trouble might focus the dizzy minds of some people into responsible ownership and training.”

“Gosh, dais9ma9ie 'I put it to you….'. I feel like I'm in an episode of Rumpole of the BaileyI Did you put a wig on when typing that? I am, despite my pointlessness and position in the 'electronic dock', perfectly capable of reading lower case sentences, however, so not sure why we need the CAPITALS.

The futility of human existence is an interesting tangent from the actual story. I'm not sure I've figured the meaning of life yet, and it may transpire that we are all pointless but this story remains that dogs cause problems through their multifarious unpleasant and disagreeable behaviours and qualities. (I forgot that they're smelly and dribble in my last post, so please add those to the not inconsiderable list, none of which you have attempted to dispute)

And please don't typecast me as an animal hater; I am very fond of many breeds, cows and sheep being particularly tasty.”

“Before anyone adds the inevitable 'It's not the dog, it's the owner' comment, may I just point out that the story is pretty clear that the dog did the biting not the owner. Pointless animals which just cause a multitude of anti-social issues, straying, defication, CO2 production, noise nuisence, disease (e.g Lyme's disease) and biting (12 postmen bitten per day on average, excluding strike days of course). Time we confined the unnatural and unnecessary practice of keeping these animals as pets to history so the quality of life for the majority of right thinking people is enhanced.”
