An injured woman was cut out of a car by fire fighters after a lorry drove into its rear end in Temple Way, Bristol.

The woman was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary with suspected neck and spinal injuries after the crash at about 1.45pm yesterday outside the City Inn Hotel.

Police closed two lanes of Temple Way, and the turn off to Temple Back, for more than an hour while investigations took place.

The woman's injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
