Woman attacked shopper in Bristol supermarket
A Southmead woman attacked a fellow shopper in a queue because of a feud, Bristol magistrates heard.
Susan Thompson, of Marbeck Road, grabbed Gail Blandford around the neck in the Co-op at Crow Lane, Henbury, and verbally abused her.
The mother-of-two on Monday admitted assaulting Miss Blandford and using threatening behaviour on January 11.
The court heard 45-year-old Thompson lashed out because she had felt the victim had been against her in a dispute with another family.
Mark Humphries, prosecuting, told the court Thompson had known the victim for 10 years.
She saw Miss Blandford and shouted: "You are scum, I am going to get you. You are dead now."
She then barged into the victim with her basket before grabbing the back of her neck and squeezing.
After a shop assistant intervened, Thompson walked off and joined the queue.
Rebecca Pearce, defending, said her client had behaved as she did because she was felt she herself had been victimised.
"It is an incident that she very much regrets," said Ms Pearce.
Magistrates gave Thompson a 12-month community order with 40 hours unpaid work.

“Not to hard to see why the kids in this area are running amok when a 'mother-of-two' behaves like this.”
