Woman killed in Bristol road crash

This is Bristol

A 26-year-old woman was killed when the car she was driving hit a wall in Bristol.

The crash happened near the junction of Bedminster Down Road and Winterstoke Road, Bedminster, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The accident happened at about 12.40am. The woman was thrown from her Rover ZR160.

She was taken by ambulance to Frenchay Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A passenger in the car escaped with only minor injuries.

Police say that no other car was involved in the collision.

They are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash to contact the collision investigation unit on 0845 456 7000.

Officers are especially keen to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle in the moments before the crash.
