Witness appeal over M5 crash
WITNESSES to a crash on the M5 which left a car overturned on its roof are being sought by police.
Officers want to speak to motorists who may have witnessed events leading up to the crash near Clevedon on Saturday afternoon.
They particularly want to hear from anyone who saw a red Ford Escort being driven erratically on the southbound carriageway between the Portishead and Clevedon junctions.
A force spokesman said witnesses had reported seeing the Escort undertake other vehicles and switch lanes to weave through the traffic.

It was then involved in a collision with another car and ended up on its roof.
The Escort driver, a man in his early 60s, and his teenage female passenger were not seriously injured – but the incident closed the motorway for more than an hour.
Police say they want to hear from anyone who saw the Escort before the collision and particularly want to speak to the occupants of a red or maroon Peugeot 306 estate, which was driving just ahead of the Escort before it crashed.
Anyone with information should contact the Roads Policing Unit at Almondsbury on 101.
