Withywood's fledgling cadet force earns "most improved" honour
A SCHOOL'S Army Cadet Force has been praised as one of the most improved detachments - even though it has been running for under two years.
The Army's praise went to Merchants' Academy in Withywood which has 50 students aged from between 12 and 16 in its own cadet force.

Captain Jason Button, commander of the academy's detachment, said: "This honour is really something special for us as cadet detachments often take about five years to go from scratch to fully running. We have been going for only 21 months.
"Bristol is divided into three companies with about eight detachments in each and we were voted the most improved in A Company in 2012."
