Hanham Minor League Under-10s: Winterbourne United secured their first league victory of the Division C season with a 6-4 triumph over Downend Boys.

Ryan Sharpe and George Hanham scored the goals to see them to a 2-1 first-game win, while Spencer Robertson netted for Downend with a volley.

Sharpe, Benjy Parker and Dom Jewell created plenty of chances for Winterbourne and Adam Pearce and Jordan Meredith kept things tidy at the back.

Winterbourne completed the mission in game two by edging it 4-3. Their goals came from Kieran Jackson (2), George Huke, with a well-struck free-kick, and Thomas Wheeler.

Downend were always in the contest as Jake Briton, Harvey Park and Edward Grant netted.

Longwell Green had a 4-3 victory over battling Bristol Spartak in the same division.

Longwell had the best of game one and a surging run from Reece Dimond resulted in Joe Harding tapping home their opener.

Spartak equalised just before half-time with a header, but Longwell regained the initiative when strong work on the left from Nathan Dolan resulted in Tom Frankcom's scoring with a powerful strike.

Kyle Roberts' goal wrapped up a 3-1 win, although it took a superb save from Jamie Griffin to ensure that's how it stayed.

In game two, Green took the lead through Sam Williams. Ben Bielecki showed moments of magic and James Gulliford came close to increasing their advantage.

But Spartak equalised after the break and they scored again late on to seal a 2-1 win.

In Division D, Bradley Stoke United B clinched their third win of the season with a 9-4 success over Hanham Athletic.

All the damage was done in the first game as Stoke swept to a 9-2 win with hat-tricks each from Aaron Muscat and Callum Couzens, and a goal apiece for Adam Bassir, Ryan Jackson and keeper Callum Beresford, who scored a penalty.

The second game was a different story and with Stoke unable to covert a number of chances, Hanham eased to a 2-0 win.

Jacob Powell scored his first goal of the season to cap a tenacious performance for Nicholas Wanderers Colts as they pipped Yate Rangers 2-1 in the same division.

Yate had opened the scoring in the first half of game one, while George Brimble was unlucky not to equalise.

Powell levelled up the contest and Wanderers scored a winner just before the end from Danny Luther.

In a goalless second game, Cole Diment and Danny Evans worked hard in the Wanderers midfield to gain the advantage, while player-of-the-match Ellis Radford ensured no way through for Yate with a string of fantastic saves.

Bitton pulled off a hard-fought 4-2 Division A victory over Bristol City Supporters Club.

They controlled the first half of the opening encounter and excellent passing brought them numerous chances. Two such moves ensured a goal apiece before half-time for Louis Gordon and George Neill.

The second half was more even with both teams having opportunities but the score remained at 2-0.

The second match ebbed and flowed, with City enjoying the better of the early exchanges, going a goal up midway through the first half. But Bitton responded well with Max Buxton levelling from close range.

City regained the lead to reduce the overall deficit to one and then had a chance to level from the penalty spot.

Joe Fletcher proved a hero for Bitton, pulling off a superb save. Buoyed by this, Bitton made the game safe when the excellent Richard Yorath converted the rebound from a penalty.

Defender Ben Thomas and his Brislington A team-mates produced a fabulous first-match showing and were unfortunate to fall to a 1-0 defeat in their away date with Ashton Boys A. Thomas twice went close to scoring for Brislington with attempts that hit the crossbar.

The second game was one-way traffic as Ashton scored two goals in each half for a 4-0 win.

Despite a 7-1 scoreline, Bristol Rovers JFC were made to fight hard for their overall victory over Mangotsfield, after the first game had ended in a 1-1 draw.

Mangotsfield took the lead in the 17th minute through Myley Balkwell, and only some excellent goalkeeping by Bradley Davies stopped them going further ahead.

Rovers got back into the game in the 30th minute following a good move that ended with Aaron Mansfield shooting into the top corner of the net.

In the second game, Ben Alexander opened the scoring for Rovers in the 11th minute.

Ricky Kirby increased their lead a minute later and Alexander went on to complete his hat-trick with two further goals in the second half. Morgan Wager and a second for Kirby completed a 6-0 win.

Yate United returned to winning ways with a 4-1 aggregate win over Bradley Stoke Youth in Division B.

Stoke took the lead in the first game before Yate levelled as an excellent corner from Alfie Waller was headed in by James Robinson.

Yate forged in front when Robinson grabbed a second, and the lead was extended through Harvey Bryant's effort.

The second match was tight with neither team able to find the net in the first half. But the deadlock was finally broken when Charlie Davis turned in a Luke Henderson corner.

Some excellent saves from the Bradley Stoke keeper ensured their rearguard was not breached again.

Lewis Clapp and Jordan Perkins were the respective star men for Highridge United Under-10s as they fought out a 3-3 draw with Avon Athletic.

Simon Kane netted Highridge's goal in a 1-0 first-game win. Then Declan Hurst and Ben Rush scored in a 3-2 second-match defeat to ensure a share of the overall spoils.

Keynsham Town dominated their double-header against Ashton Boys.

In the first match, Keynsham eased into a 2-0 lead with goals from star performer James Ollis and Harrison Johnson, before Ollis added a third after the break.

Keynsham gradually took command of game two and Todd Leech put them in front.

More attempts rattled the woodwork before Sam Sharp added a second goal to hand Keynsham, whose tenacious defender Bailey Davies again earned man-of-the-match, a 5-0 aggregate win.
