Winterbourne students put on "West End-worthy" performance of Queen musical
STUDENTS at Winterbourne International Academy have staged a production of the musical We Will Rock You.
After five months of preparation, pupils at the school put on four performances of the show inspired by the music of Queen and written by Ben Elton.

The production, which was enjoyed by more than 600 people, was put together by 130 students from Year 7 to 11
A spokesman for the school said: "They created a show that wouldn't go amiss in the West End. The show has pushed our students to their limits, while also educating them about great music and instilling confidence in performance.

The performances raised more than £250 in programme sales, which has been donated to the Mercury Phoenix Trust, a charity set up by Brian May, Roger Taylor and Jim Beach in 1992 to raise the awareness of AIDS.
