Basement side Winterbourne have claimed their first win of the summer after beating Minehead by five wickets.

The victory could have been more comprehensive had Minehead, who were 40-6 at one stage, not been rescued by No 7 batsman Andrew Woodward (50 from 63 balls, including 11 fours). Adam Moore took 4-38.

But Jonathan Oakes (27) top- scored for Winterbourne, who scored 123-5 in reply to their opponents' 122.

Lansdown beat North Perrott by seven wickets thanks to James Palmer and Tom Naylor hitting 78 not out and 47 not out respectively.

Alex Tryfonos remained unbeaten on 31 not out as Brislington beat his old club Bedminster by six wickets.

Batting first, Bedminster made 191 with skipper James Carter finishing two runs shy of a half-century.

Brislington captain Leigh Iles took 6-59 and was well-supported by Courtney Forrest (3-67).

Carter (4-27) was the only Bedminster player to take wickets as Brislington's batsmen, including Richard Ollis (69) and Craig Stock (50), dominated.

Ashcott & Shapwick routed Stapleton by 139 runs. David Reid (85 from 88 balls, including 14 fours and a six) and Nayan Karmarker (58 from 74, including eight fours) guided the Bridgwater side to 234-9. Daniel Chard took 6-68.

Stapleton were all out for 95 with Andrew Chidgey top-scoring with 41. James Hayman (4-22) was the pick of the bowlers.

In Bristol & North Somerset, Claverham now top the division in their own right after Old Bristolians Westbury were beaten for the first time this summer by Congresbury.

Despite Martin Bowyer taking 5-49, Claverham posted 207-8 against Shirehampton thanks to Richard Horton (57) hitting his third half- century this year.

Bowyer was also the Shirehampton hero with the bat, hitting 76 not out, although his side finished on 183-9. Bristolians suffered a batting collapse when chasing Congresbury's 192. Tim Baker hit 54 for Congresbury while Gareth Griffiths took 4-31.

The Failand outfit only made 90 in reply. Alex Harris (18) top scored as Congresbury employed only two bowlers, Buddhadev Mangaldas (6-41) and Neil Frost (4-45).

Wayne Kylander took 5-21 and hit 37 in Frenchay's seven-wicket win against Hambrook.

Alex Stell (4-39) also impressed with the ball as Hambrook were restricted to 114. Penultimate batsman Parvinder Brar smacked an almost-a run-a-ball 42.

Chipping Sodbury (195-9) secured a 96-run win after skittling Bishopston for only 91.

Nailsea (197-1) eased to a nine- wicket win against bottom side Timsbury (195-8).

Meanwhile in the Gloucester/Wiltshire Division, Rockhampton lost by six wickets against Gloucester City Winget and Marshfield were beaten by nine wickets by Westbury & District.
