Hellenic League round-up:

Stewart Jones plans to bow out in style as he takes charge of Winterbourne United for the final time tomorrow.

Jones, pictured top right, is ending a remarkable managerial stint spanning 17 seasons at the Rec because he has been posted to Toulouse for two years to work on the Airbus project.

During that time, he has clinched five trophies with the club, including two Hellenic Division I West titles in the past four years.

By his own admission, this season has been an uphill struggle, however, and United go into tomorrow's home fixture against fellow-strugglers Cirencester United eager to atone for two heavy home defeats on the spin – and mark Jones' farewell game in charge with a victory.

Jones, whose backroom team of Terry Northam and Keith Ford will take over the reins in the interim while a permanent successor is sought, said: "It's hard giving something up that has been such a big part of your life, and it's the first time I've put work before football to such a degree.

"All the travelling would make it impossible to maintain the standards I have set myself so now's the time to go."

Tytherington Rocks entertain Lydney Town in a rich vein of form after putting together a six-match unbeaten league run which has lifted them to sixth in the table.

Rocks are further boosted by the pending return of new midfielder Luke Davidson from injury, but right-back Ross Irwin remains a doubt with an ankle problem.

Former Yate Town boss Richard Thompson insists the start he has made to his stint in charge of Almondsbury Town has only heightened his determination to return to Southern League football.

Thompson's men to to mid-table Flackwell Heath tomorrow looking for their sixth successive victory, a run which has lifted them to third in the table.

And they have two games in hand on leaders Reading Town and Shortwood, the two teams above them.

Thompson, whose side knocked Berkeley Town out of the GFA Trophy with a 2-0 on Wednesday, said: "I'm thoroughly enjoying myself and it's only intensified my desire to get back to a higher level of football."
