Self-employed computer consultant Jon Wilson and his wife Julia are looking forward to a night out to remember after winning tickets in a Bristol Post competition to see Sir Elton John.

The Stoke Bishop couple won £100 tickets from the Bristol Post's Crackerjack website for first-class seats when Sir Elton performs at the County Ground on June 13.

Jon and Julie will also enjoy a champagne reception, a three-course dinner, a concert programme and free parking.

And they will receive a copy of Rocket Man: The Definitive Hits – a CD featuring 18 of Sir Elton's biggest hits – as well as a 10-track DVD with live performances and official videos.

"I've been a fan of Elton right from the early Seventies and his Crocodile Rock days," said Jon, 51.

"Julia and I first saw him in a live performance four years ago when he was at the sell-out show at Bristol City's ground.

"It was a fantastic show and we are really looking forward to seeing him performing again in the city."

Sir Elton has sold more than 200 million albums over his 40-year career.

Second-prize winner Mrs Gemma Dix, of Chiltern Close, Whitchurch, gets a pair of £100 tickets and third prize winners Candi Tyler, of Narroways Road; Martin Ryan, of Woodington Road, Clevedon, and Laurence Davies, Bristol Road, Highbridge, will each receive a pair of £80 tickets. They will all receive the package of the DVD and CD.
