Wine of the Week
Taste the Difference Priorat 2009, at £10.79 from Sainsbury's is, as far as I know, the only supermarket own-brand bottling from the extraordinary Priorat region.
It is certainly the cheapest Priorat I have come across, and it isn't half bad.
It's a dark, intense red of gripping, liquorice savour, illuminated by warm spice notes that I fancy include cinnamon and nutmeg.
It's a respectable introduction to the style, and I hope an incentive to try something a little further up the scale.
