Paulton Rovers 2 Taunton Town 0: Paulton Rovers warmed up for next Saturday's FA Cup clash against Norwich City with a comfortable victory in their Somerset derby with Taunton.

Manager Andy Jones was also boosted by the fact that his side came through the match with no injuries worries.

Paulton's league game at Bishop's Cleeve, originally due to be played tomorrow, has also been put back until the following week.

Rovers started strongly and went close to taking the lead when Matt Cooper's near-post header from a corner went just wide.

They went ahead after 20 minutes, when Kane Ingram released Cooper, who slipped the ball past goalkeeper Lewis Irish.

In the second half, Paulton goalkeeper Kyle Phillips saved a long-distance shot from Shaun Anthony, but then the home side settled down and took control of the game.

Paulton made it two after 61 minutes, when a ball from the right-hand side was played into the Taunton penalty area and turned into his own net by Taunton's Neil Bailey.

Robbie Claridge went close to adding a third goal for the hosts with a well-struck drive from 35 yards.
