"Unfortunately, the cost of putting on the event has escalated to a point where the effort needed to organise it has exceeded the benefit that can be gained," said a statement from the organisers.
"The departure of Cadbury's from the town has resulted in uncertainty on availability and costs of using Somerdale, and the position of licensing is unclear.
"Also, clashes with other events at Somerdale has made it difficult to guarantee a safe exit from the site for runners.
"Sponsorship from Keynsham Hearing Centre helped to keep the 2012 race going, but even that is insufficient for 2013.
"This is a great disappointment for the Scout Group who rely on fundraising events to keep active Scouting going."
