BROADCASTER Terry Nutkins, whose TV shows from Bristol Zoo helped create a generation of nature lovers, has died, aged 66.

Mr Nutkins' relationship with Bristol Zoo began more than 30 years ago, working on the BBC's Animal Magic with co-presenter Johnny Morris. He then fronted The Really Wild Show from its launch in 1986 until 1993.

Announcing his death, Mr Nutkins' agent John Miles said he had fought for about nine months or so with acute leukaemia.

Last year the naturalist, who lived in Scotland, spoke to the Post about his fond memories of the years he spent working with Mr Morris at Bristol Zoo, describing them as "wonderful days", and paid tribute to the zoo's work, describing it as "one of the world leaders in zoology and conservation in particular".
