Weymouth 0 Barrow 3: Weymouth were able to send out a side stacked with senior players for the first time in two months, but it was a familiar story as the Terras slumped to a ninth successive defeat as Barrow scored three second-half goals.

Centre back Gavin Hoyte had the ball in the net for the hosts after just three minutes but the header was ruled out for offside.

In between, the visitors hit the target three times but on each occasion new keeper Adam Legzdins saved.

All that first-half toil was undone in the first nine minutes of the second period as Barrow seized the initiative with two quick-fire goals.

First, in the 51st minute, Lee Steele pulled back to Mark Boyd and his cleanly struck half-volley whistled past Legzdins. Then, three minutes later, the Terras were in disarray as Boyd supplied a low centre from the left that was flicked home by skipper Paul Jones.

Midway through the half, Weymouth looked as though they had been gifted a lifeline when burly front man Lee McEvilly saw red following a second booking. Moments later, Akurang should have made more of Jermaine Palmer's low centre but missed the ball with the goal gaping two yards out.

However, the Bluebirds – not content with their afternoon's work – found a third 10 minutes from time when Jones rose high at the back post to plant a firm head home a corner.
