Weston's much-changed side had too much for Taunton in the first round of the Somerset Premier Cup, beating them 5-2.

Taunton's Scott Thomas cancelled out Ryan Havard's opener, but Weston led 3-1 at the break as Marvin Brown and Dean Grubb scored.

Darren Mullings made it 4-1 in the second half before Alex Pounde reduced the arrears.

However, Havard made it 5-2 to earn Weston a home tie against Brislington in the second round on November 17.
