Weston-super-Mare go into Saturday's home game against Bromley in search of another three points to boost manager Andy Gurney's aim of a top-half finish to the season.

They have nine games left to achieve the target and they were given a tremendous boost by winning 1-0 at Team Bath on Tuesday despite the absence of five players through injury.

They are still without Mark McKeever, who goes into hospital for a knee operation next week, while Ashan Holgate, Mike Green, Darren Mullins and Scott Partridge are still a couple of weeks away from full fitness.

Midfielder Dean Grubb, who has been struggling to hold down a place recently, could be joining Southern League Premier Division outfit Gloucester City.

Bath City have no weekend game but kept their play-off hopes alive with Wednesday night's 4-0 win at Newport County.

Stuart Douglas followed up his brace on Saturday against Havant and Waterlooville with a hat-trick at Spytty Park, while Darren Edwards scored the Romans' other goal.

The win meant Bath reduced the gap to the top five to 13 points, and after tomorrow they will have two games in hand on their rivals.

On-loan Bristol Rovers striker Josh Klein-Davies made another substitute appearance. The Wales Under-21 international has joined the Twerton Park club for a month.

Manager Adie Britton said: "He is highly rated by Paul Trollope and Lennie Lawrence and they feel he needs a prolonged run of football to develop further."

Bath are back in action on Tuesday when they host Basingstoke.

Team Bath, whose play-off hopes were all but killed off by last Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Bognor Regis, entertain Braintree at Twerton Park.
