Weston boss plays down talk of the play-offs
CRAIG Laird is urging Weston-super-Mare's players to adopt a tunnel vision approach to the rest of the Blue Square South campaign.
The Seagulls may be on the fringe of the play-off places with nearly two thirds of the campaign gone, but their manager is not getting carried away.
Weston found themselves in a similar position last season, only to fall away at this stage of the season and finish in mid-table.
Although Laird feels his squad is better equipped to maintain a challenge this time around, he has banned talk of the play-offs and reminded his charges of the importance of focusing on the job at hand.

For Weston, the next step entails back-to-back home games against Maidenhead United and Eastleigh.
Maidenhead are first up at the Woodspring Stadium tomorrow and Laird said: "We have to focus on the next match and forget everything else that is going on around us.
"I think everyone became a little carried away by it all last year and we took our eye off the ball and lost sight of what had made us successful in the first place. We learned a lot from that experience and we now know the secret is not to look too far ahead.
"I know it is a cliché, but we will take it one game at a time and not be sucked into talk about play-offs."
Weston may come up against former team-mate Manny Parry. The central defender has been released by Stoke City and is in talks with Maidenhead.
