Weston put last week's defeat by Bognor Regis behind them with a win.

Weston opened their account on 13 minutes through a Jack Compton free-kick.

Five minutes later Holloway's free-kick found Craig Rand to score.

Braintree came close again on 25 minutes when Lee Burns' thunderous 25-yard rasper came back off the angle of post and cross bar with Northmore beaten.

Another Compton cross cannoned off the legs of a Braintree defender, but luckily into the grateful arms of Holloway and another good move involving McGregory and Williams opened up the Braintree defence, but Williams scuffed his shot.

Compton carved the defence open and his low cross was netted by Grubb on the far post on 67 minutes.

Braintree grabbed a consolation on 79 minutes when Marks scored with a near-post header.
