This is Bristol

Bridgwater is a lively town, full of history and with a strong sense of identity.

A community has existed here for more than 1,000 years and the many examples of fine architecture throughout the town reflect its prosperous past.

Why not combine a shopping trip with a visit to the Blake Museum, the Arts Centre or just a stroll around this fine town.

Bridgwater's location at the foot of the Quantock Hills and on the edge of the Somerset Levels makes it an ideal location for exploring the countryside nearby.

Bridgwater is world famous for its illuminated Guy Fawkes Carnival, which takes place each November and lights up the town with music, movement and colour, and is considered to be the largest such winter carnival staged on a crispy winter's evening.

Another annual big event is Bridgwater Fair which takes place every September at St Matthew's Field in West Street.

This guide is an overview of the town of Bridgwater.
