Welcome to BR12 TOL
A KINGSWOOD businessman has got his hands on a personalised number plate which will make him the envy of proud Bristolians across the city.
Imran Ahmed has bought the "BR12TOL" registration – the closest you will be able to get to spelling out the name of our city until 2015 comes around and the "BR15TOL" plate comes out.
Mr Ahmed, 30, is manager at Bristol Blue Customs – a company which provides a vinyl wrapping customising service for cars – and reckons the plate could be worth up to £10,000.
"It's a real novelty plate," he said.

"It's a great number plate for people in Bristol."

“Not something i'd buy personally but he seems happy with it so what's the problem? Usual spiteful nonsense being spouted.”

“@ SpinyHedgehog
You're right of course, Kingswood is not in Bristol and long may it stay that way ...”

“But surely Kingswood isn't in Bristol? Just thought I'd get in before KNIGEL...”

“BR15 TOL would appear more accurate.
To me BR12 TOL appears more like BRIZTOL, but if you have £10k to waste on a car registration then you can't be a terribly imaginative person”

“@ Mikey_Blake
You only have to look around to see the number of number plates that do not meet the legal requirements to realise that the Police place a very low priority on this.
The only time an illegal number plate is liable to be picked up is on the MoT, which won't apply in this case, when an illegal plate can cause a vehicle to fail.
As an aside, I have a personalised plate, it cost £250 and my excuse for buying it was that at my age any help in remembering my name or of finding my vehicle in a car park is advantageous.
Before any posters go on about a decrepit like me still driving, the aside is a joke ....”

“Can someone please tell me what is newsworthy about this article?
Man buys personalised number plate, if you can be bothered to work it out.
He clearly has more money than sense but gets a plug for his business in the meantime.
I am neither envious or impressed. Fool.”

“You can bet your life it won't look that way for long, once the Police become aware of his illegal letter-spacing on that number-plate.
He's gonna get hassled constantly for that.”
