Weather keeps ambulance crews busy
The ambulance service in Bristol reported a high volume of calls overnight with falls and collisions continuing to rise above normal levels.
Spokesman for Great Western Ambulance Service, John Oliver said that despite the difficult conditions, crews were managing to respond to all calls.
The wintry weather has meant that response times have slowed so that ambulance staff can make their way safely through snow and ice on the roads.
Some paramedics have raised concerns about the number of people driving too fast on the slippery roads.
Mr Oliver said: "We ask people that if they are going out, please do take extra care. If the roads are slipperly, drive carefully."
