Walking Bristol gets cash boost
A PROJECT offering free walking tours of Bristol has been awarded funding from O2’s Think Big grant.
Walking Bristol, started by Student James Bogie, from Clifton, has been awarded £300 for marketing and to enable the experience to stay free.
In addition to the financial support, James will receive training and mentoring from O2 professionals.
James said: “This funding is fantastic, because it means we can grow the tour every week, spread the word, and most importantly – continue to keep it free. We’ll also use it for public liability insurance, and expand the team who currently run it.
This week's delicious £5 5 O'CLOCKTAIL is a refreshing Tequila Sunrise. Available everyday from our Bar for only £5 between 5pm & 7pm.
Terms: £5 cocktail applies to the cocktail of the week.

“At the moment, our following is mainly students, but this money means we can reach a wider audience – as a fun, and interesting introduction to the city.
“Our aim is to get people leaving our tour with a greater understanding of Bristol, and to love the city as much as we do.”
The unique guided tours were started as a hobby when James began university after he found there weren’t any free walking tours, or stimulating history books.
So he and a friend, Kat Thomas, decided to get more students excited about the city – with a free tour.
The tour visits the most iconic places in the city, includes a discounted lunch at Pieminister while offering up some of the most interesting nuggets of the city's history.
