O N September 4, there will once again be two walks in support of Animals Asia Foundation, working to end bear bile farming in China and Vietnam and to give freedom to hundreds of endangered bears.

Asiatic black bears (nicknamed Moon bears because of their gold crescent markings on their chests) are kept in tiny cages on bear bile farms so that their bile can be extracted daily for use in traditional Chinese medicine – so far Animals Asia have freed 358 bears in China and Vietnam. There is no let up for the bear from this life of constant torture until either they die or are rescued.

There will be two walks – one of five miles and the other of ten. Both are circular, both include long stretches of coastal path. The start and finish will be at Kilve beach, Minehead, from the car park just yards from the Chantry Tea Rooms.
