Voyage of discovery for Bristol pupils in city centre
Hundreds of primary school pupils took a trip to The Mall Bristol shopping centre –to find out about the world.
They visited an event called Discover, which has been organised by Bristol University to highlight the work and research carried out by academics and students. The pupils were given a chance to make music from a giant penguin ice sculpture, explore the world of carnivorous plants and ancient civilizations, discover how memories are formed or find out what makes volcanoes erupt.

The free event includes 20 interactive exhibits involving more than 100 researchers. There will also be a series of free talks in the city.
